Job Overview
The Aircraft Cleaner is tasked with maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation for company aircraft before each flight. This role supports the flight operations team by ensuring both the interior and exterior of aircraft are pristine, fully stocked, and comfortable for passengers and crew.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute thorough interior cleaning of company aircraft prior to departure, including vacuuming carpets and floors, sanitizing lavatories, disinfecting cabin surfaces, cleaning windows, mirrors, tables, and cabinets, disposing of trash with liner replacements, and dusting vents and ledges.
- Perform exterior cleaning and detailing of aircraft per established procedures, including washing, cleaning windows, landing gear, wheels, brightwork, and removing contaminants like bugs and dirt.
- Assist as needed with aircraft polishing and appearance enhancement projects.
- Manage stocking and replenishment of commissary items such as beverages, snacks, catering supplies, ice, paper products, coffee materials, and passenger amenities, maintaining inventory and notifying management of shortages.
- Prepare aircraft cabin to meet company presentation standards before passengers board, ensuring all cabin and safety equipment, and passenger amenities are organized and secured.
- Maintain cleanliness of hangar spaces, cleaning tools, storage areas, and commissary zones.
- Use and up-keep cleaning equipment and manufacturer-approved chemicals safely, adhering to all company and safety protocols to avoid aircraft damage.
- Provide assistance to maintenance staff with non-technical support tasks when requested.
- Report any cabin discrepancies, damages, or supply shortages to the Director of Maintenance or designated supervisor promptly.
- Maintain a professional appearance and offer courteous support to flight crews and passengers as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or an equivalent certification.
- Prior experience in aircraft detailing or cleaning is preferred but not mandatory.
- Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and on short notice.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically strenuous tasks such as bending, climbing, kneeling, and working on ladders.
- Strong attention to detail and dedication to upholding executive-level aircraft presentation standards.
- Ability to operate independently while also collaborating effectively with a team.
