Job Overview

As an AI Solution Architect, you will lead the design and deployment of cutting-edge machine learning and artificial intelligence systems from initial concept through production. You will develop and enhance modern MLOps pipelines, focusing on maximizing model efficiency and scalability while ensuring compliance and security standards are upheld. Collaborating closely with data scientists, engineers, and other stakeholders, you will foster AI innovation and provide guidance through coaching and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and scale enterprise-grade AI and ML applications.
• Build and refine MLOps pipelines, including continuous integration/deployment, monitoring, and model retraining workflows.
• Optimize model performance and orchestrate their operation in production environments.
• Guarantee AI applications meet robustness, fairness, compliance, and security requirements.
• Work hand-in-hand with data scientists and engineers on data pipelines, feature stores, and validating models.
• Choose and integrate modern AI tools, frameworks, and architectures.
• Contribute to setting standards, best practices, and the strategic AI/ML roadmap.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to junior and mid-level engineers.

Required Qualifications

• Several years of experience in architecting, implementing, and running AI/ML solutions.
• Deep expertise in Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Masked Language Models (MLMs), and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) including architecture, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and agent orchestration.
• Familiarity with frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or Haystack.
• Strong programming skills in Python and practical experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP, Databricks), container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code tools like Terraform.
• Experience working with MLOps tools including MLflow, deployment processes, observability, and governance.
• Understanding of compliance and security standards, for example GDPR, ISO/IEC 27001/27701, and TISAX.
• Proven ability to design digital solutions and present them effectively to clients.

Educational Requirements and Language Skills

• A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field is essential.
• Fluent German language skills at minimum C1 level and good command of English are mandatory.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in software engineering practices such as clean code development, design patterns, and testing methodologies.
• Project or team management experience with methodologies like Scrum or CRISP-DM.
• Hands-on experience with local LLMs such as Llama.cpp, Ollama, vLLM, or Unsloth and familiarity with ML libraries like PyTorch, scikit-learn, and OpenCV.
• Expertise in constructing AI platforms for enterprise search, test automation, or coding agents.
• Knowledge of data analysis using statistics, Tableau, and R.
• Relevant certifications in AI, ML, cloud computing, or software engineering fields.
