Role Overview
As part of the Consumer Experience & Integrity (CXI) organization—which spans Trust, Safety, Identity, SuperApp architecture, Loyalty, Subscriptions, Customer Support, Communications, Personalisation, and Growth—you will take on the role of a senior technical leader. Your mandate is to revolutionize AI-driven engineering techniques, elevate architectural standards for large-scale distributed systems, and create unified platforms and design patterns to promote faster and more autonomous team operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Transform the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) with AI technologies, moving beyond standalone AI tools to embed autonomous agents and intelligent systems throughout every stage—from requirements gathering and design to testing, deployment, and incident management.
- Establish platforms, evaluation frameworks, testing protocols, and operational guardrails to support scalable and safe high-autonomy engineering, enabling rapid feedback, improved quality, and enhanced engineering efficiency.
- Lead architectural design of large, complex distributed systems focusing on high throughput, availability, scalability, resilience, performance, security, and cost-efficiency to support critical consumer and integrity services.
- Identify opportunities for creating common platform capabilities across the Grab ecosystem, spanning multiple business sectors, to solve core platform challenges once and provide reusable solutions.
- Promote architectural coherence while empowering cross-functional autonomous teams by developing reusable patterns, principles, technical guardrails, and reference architectures that guide independent decision-making and robust architectural solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive software engineering and system design experience exceeding 15 years, with at least 5 years fulfilling principal engineer or architect positions.
- Proven expertise in AI-driven engineering transformations, including developing coding agents, agentic workflows, context and knowledge management systems, automated testing methods, and engineering guardrails.
- Strong background in architecting and scaling large distributed platforms supporting millions of users with stringent requirements for reliability and availability.
- Experience building or leading shared platform solutions widely adopted across various products, business units, or technical organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-team architectural efforts and influence senior technical and product leaders without direct reporting lines.
