Role Overview

The AI Consultant is a seasoned expert in artificial intelligence who provides strategic guidance, mentorship, and technical problem-solving for complex AI projects. This role acts as a pivotal internal or external advisor bridging various AI domains for state-of-the-art program delivery aligned with organizational objectives.

Primary Responsibilities

• Offer expert technical advice on challenging AI issues, analyze and recommend modeling techniques, resolve problems such as training instability or data leakage, and audit project models for robustness.
• Lead thought leadership initiatives by identifying impactful AI opportunities, evaluating emerging tech, and shaping strategic investments in AI capabilities and data assets.
• Facilitate collaboration across departments to prevent redundant efforts, share best practices, and communicate AI concepts effectively to leadership and non-technical audiences.
• Drive research and development by staying up-to-date with AI advancements, prototyping innovative ideas, and engaging actively within external communities such as conferences and open-source projects.

Required Qualifications

• Typically over five years of experience in AI or machine learning, though exceptional impactful contributions in fewer years may be considered.
• Demonstrable impact through patents, publications, open-source involvement, or leading significant AI projects.
• Recognized external authority indicated by speaking roles, participation in standards organizations, or industry consortiums.
• Proven ability to mentor and coach teams while embedding best practices in AI development.
