About the Role
Join CGU, part of Insurance Australia Group (IAG), a leading insurer with over 165 years of expertise in commercial, rural, and personal insurance lines, including workers compensation. As an Agri Underwriter, you will evaluate insurance risks, set terms and pricing, and provide excellent underwriting support for business partners. This full-time position is based in Ballarat or Naarm (Melbourne).
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with brokers to underwrite insurance risks in accordance with product guidelines and advocate for partners at various customer engagement points.
- Establish and sustain strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Conduct risk assessments thoroughly and efficiently.
- Assist brokers with underwriting queries via telephone and email communication.
Required Experience and Skills
- Proven experience in agricultural underwriting is mandatory.
- Solid technical underwriting knowledge and skills derived from previous roles.
- Customer-centric approach with effective verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Possession of a Certificate IV in General Insurance is advantageous, though not mandatory.
