Job description
Position Overview
The Agent - Purchasing role is based in Medina, Saudi Arabia at Sheraton Hotels & Resorts. This full-time, onsite position involves managing and overseeing procurement activities primarily related to food inventory and supplies. The incumbent will ensure precise inventory calculations, maintenance of records, invoice processing, and adherence to food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Calculate food inventory figures, orders, and associated costs accurately.
- Maintain accurate and organized documentation of reports and invoices for filing and storage.
- Process invoices efficiently using company computer systems.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to assess stock levels and necessities.
- Prepare requisition forms to replenish inventory and supplies as required.
- Alert supervisors about low stock levels to ensure timely replenishment.
- Verify and monitor received inventory; complete detailed inventory logs and reports.
- Reconcile discrepancies between shipping invoices and receiving documents to confirm count accuracy.
- Manage deliveries by receiving, unloading, and processing shipments.
- Reject deliveries containing damaged, unacceptable, or incorrect items.
- Address and resolve vendor delivery issues, managing the returns process when necessary.
- Observe food safety and handling policies strictly across all food-related operations.
- Monitor Par levels of all food items to maintain appropriate stock availability.
- Report workplace accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions promptly to management.
- Participate in safety trainings and obtain relevant certifications as required.
- Comply with all company procedures, maintain professional personal appearance, and protect company confidentiality and assets.
- Communicate professionally in verbal and written forms, including proper telephone etiquette.
- Develop positive interpersonal relationships within the team to achieve shared goals.
- Maintain compliance with quality assurance standards and visual inspection of tools, equipment, and machinery.
- Perform physical activities including standing, sitting, walking extended hours, and manually handling items up to 50 pounds.
- Navigate narrow and challenging workspace environments.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
- Minimum educational requirement: High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience in purchasing or inventory management.
- No supervisory experience required.
- No specific licenses or certifications are mandatory.
