Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated bilingual professional based in Singapore to join our expanding Ocean Export department. The role demands fast-paced, dynamic work within a professional environment to ensure smooth international freight processing while meeting departmental key performance indicators.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with clients to manage international shipment processing adhering strictly to company operations procedures.
- Maintain an understanding of workflow processes, ensuring prompt and accurate data entries.
- Prepare and update customer-specific standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct credit checks and screening of customers and denied parties before processing shipments.
- Ensure timely and accurate billing for clients and vendors aligned with company standards.
- Foster and maintain strong supplier relationships with shipping lines, trucking firms, cargo freight stations, and other partners.
- Comply fully with government regulations to avoid fines, penalties, or late filings.
- Secure necessary export permits prior to shipment departures.
- Adhere to operational quality standards and KPIs including prompt documentation and invoicing.
- Respond to internal and external communications swiftly (emails within 24 hours, voicemails within 1 hour).
- Report issues to management when needed and assist with additional departmental tasks.
- Complete 52 hours of training annually to maintain skills and knowledge.
Qualifications & Skills
- Post-secondary education or higher.
- One to two years of relevant experience or equivalent education-experience mix.
- Knowledge of ocean shipment documentation is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage clearly and effectively.
- Proactive mindset with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Fluency in English required.
