Role Overview
The Admissions Assessor plays a crucial role within the university’s Admissions Team, responsible for accurately and efficiently processing applications for new and continuing students. This position operates in a fast-paced environment, requiring attention to detail and adherence to deadlines to ensure a seamless student intake process aligned with AUT's policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate student applications to confirm eligibility and compliance with admission standards.
- Make admission decisions consistent with AUT’s established procedures and policies.
- Deliver excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve departmental goals within set timelines.
Candidate Profile
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with various stakeholders.
- Understanding of New Zealand’s secondary and tertiary education systems.
- Demonstrated experience in administrative roles, ideally within higher education or student services.
- Accuracy and meticulous attention to detail, especially under pressure.
- Dedication to equity, diversity, and inclusion, supporting AUT’s Te Aronui initiative.

Additional Information
- Work commitment is full-time, consisting of 37.5 hours weekly.
- Salary range is $62,000 to $71,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
- Start date will be mutually agreed with the successful candidate.
