About the Role
This is a permanent full-time role commencing as soon as possible at Kalgoorlie Primary School, Western Australia. The school prides itself on a dedicated team focused on providing excellent education and support, cultivating an inclusive and vibrant community of diverse students and staff.
The Facilities Officer's main responsibility is to maintain the school's grounds, buildings, and equipment to a high standard. This position is suited for someone with experience in gardening, irrigation, turf management, grounds maintenance, or facility upkeep seeking a fulfilling role within a school setting.
Key Responsibilities
Working closely with the Principal and Manager Corporate Services, you will coordinate daily maintenance activities, identify and resolve facility concerns, arrange repairs and contractor services, assist with minor projects, and upkeep the school’s outdoor areas and infrastructure. The role requires ownership, initiative, and sound judgment to ensure safe, functional, and welcoming facilities for students, staff, and the community.
Experience Preferred
Candidates with backgrounds in landscaping, plant and equipment operation, irrigation system management, and maintenance coordination from sectors such as local government, schools, sports facilities, parks, golf courses, or mining communities are favoured.

Eligibility Requirements
- Australian or New Zealand citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid visa with relevant work rights for the employment duration.
- Obtaining a valid Working With Children Check prior to commencement.
- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and receipt of a Screening Clearance Number from the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before starting work.
