Position Details

Location: Radius Matua, 124 Levers Rd, Matua, Tauranga

Working hours: 35 hours weekly, which includes a 4-hour Saturday shift every sixth week.

Compensation depends on completed recognized qualifications. Please note that Radius Care does not support work visa sponsorships or changes for this role.

Role Overview

The Activities Coordinator will design and implement personalized event programmes for residents in the care home's dementia unit. Collaborating with the team, you will develop tailored activity plans for each resident, ensuring a diverse range of creative activities are introduced and accessible to accommodate various personalities and cultural backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist residents in engaging with social events, managing diaries, and personal calendars.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create individualized activity plans.
  • Coordinate with staff to bring a variety of activities into the facility.
  • Manage activities within the allocated budget.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with experience in working with elderly individuals and their families.
  • Understanding of the specific needs of dementia patients.
  • Resourceful, adaptable, patient, and self-driven.
  • Excellent communication abilities, outgoing nature, and a good sense of humor.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Possession of a clean, full driver’s license.
