Position Details

This position is based at Radius Heatherlea, 139 Vivian St, New Plymouth, offering approximately 37.5 hours of work per week. Compensation will reflect completed recognised qualifications. Please be aware that Radius Care cannot assist with work visas or visa transitions for this role. Candidates must possess a full, clean driver's license as transporting residents using the care home van is required.

Role Responsibilities

  • Plan and facilitate person-centred event programmes tailored to residents’ interests and needs.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized activity plans for each resident.
  • Coordinate with colleagues to introduce a diverse range of creative activities within the facility.
  • Manage activities operating within allocated budget constraints.
  • Support residents with social engagements, diary management, and personal calendar planning.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Demonstrated experience in an activities coordinator role or similar within aged care settings.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities, with proven experience engaging effectively with elderly residents and their families.
  • Resourcefulness, flexibility, patience, and a motivated work ethic.
  • Excellent communication skills with a dynamic, outgoing personality and a good sense of humour.
  • Effective time management capabilities.
  • Possession of a clean full driver’s license.
