Position Details

This fixed-term role is based at Radius St Helenas, located at 392 Barbadoes St, Christchurch Central. It spans 3 months to cover a staff member on leave, requiring 30 hours weekly based on a rotating roster that includes weekends and public holidays. Compensation varies according to the caregiving qualifications attained.

Visa Note: Radius Care cannot facilitate work visas or visa changes for fixed-term roles; applicants must have an existing valid visa authorizing work, with expiry dates beyond the contract duration.

Role Overview

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will deliver high-quality support to residents under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, fostering strong relationships with residents and their families. Collaboration within the care team to execute customized care plans is essential. Comprehensive training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide personal care while supporting residents' autonomy and decision-making to encourage independence.
• Efficiently perform assigned duties within designated timeframes.
• Respond promptly to residents’ requests and offer relevant information.
• Keep accurate and current healthcare records for residents.
• Assist in handing over resident care details during shift transitions.

Required Skills and Experience

• Hold a New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 3 with at least three years of relevant experience, or a Level 4 Certificate (or equivalent qualifications).
• Demonstrated empathy and strong interpersonal skills for interacting with residents and their families.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Adaptability to work according to a shifting roster.
