Role Overview

As an Accountant specializing in Reporting and Control based in Hamilton with flexible working arrangements, you will ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial reports within the Genesis Group. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities including financial statement preparation, month-end processes, audits, emissions accounting, and regulatory reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage emissions unit accounting tasks such as accruals, journal entries, settlements, and the annual emissions return.
  • Prepare month-end journal entries and conduct balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts.
  • Support the preparation of annual and half-year financial statements at the Group and subsidiary levels, along with audit support.
  • Compile Crown financial reports and address inquiries from the Treasury as needed.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Possess a Commerce degree in Accountancy or a related discipline.
  • Be a Chartered Accountant (CA) or actively pursuing CA qualification.
  • Demonstrate 2 to 3 years of experience in financial accounting, preferably within corporate, audit, or professional services sectors with a strong foundation in core accounting functions.
  • Exhibit proficiency in month-end procedures, journal entries, reconciliations, ledger maintenance, and financial reporting.
  • Show intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and comfort handling numerical data.
  • Possess good problem-solving capabilities and the aptitude to develop collaborative relationships across teams.

Additional Information
