Job description
About Jobber and the Role
At Jobber, our mission is to empower small businesses, particularly home service providers such as plumbers, painters, and landscapers, by streamlining their operations through innovative technology. Our software enables these businesses to manage quoting, scheduling, invoicing, and payment collections all while delivering a professional customer experience. As the ways services are consumed and delivered rapidly evolve, we equip small business owners with the flexibility and power to manage their enterprises on their terms.
Our company culture is recognized for transparency, inclusivity, collaboration, and innovation, earning numerous accolades such as Great Place to Work, Canada's Most Admired Corporate Cultures, and listings on the Globe and Mail's Top Growing Companies and Deloitte's Technology Fast 50™. Our seasoned leadership team drives our continued growth and achievement since our inception in 2011.
Team Environment
The Sales team deeply understands our customers' businesses, championing their success by converting prospects into advocates. Focused on passion for sales and customer success, this team thrives on motivation, collaboration, ongoing coaching, and development conversations with management.
Role Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage a portfolio of existing customers to identify and pursue opportunities for upselling through additional features and product offerings.
- Engage proactively with customers to advise on optimizing their use of Jobber, boosting their efficiency and driving revenue growth by encouraging subscription upgrades and adding payment processing services.
- Consistently meet or exceed sales targets through effective outreach and relationship management.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments to relay customer insights and feedback on products, campaigns, and initiatives.
- Use Salesforce to accurately record critical customer data for follow-ups and analytics.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven success in outbound sales environments with accountable targets and/or commission structures, able to communicate past achievements clearly.
- High energy and enthusiasm for selling in fast-paced, dynamic settings with short sales cycles and high-volume outreach.
- Driven and resilient, capable of quickly recovering from rejection and maintaining tenacity to continue pursuing goals.
- Problem-solving orientation, demonstrating quick thinking and adaptability in varying customer interactions.
- Coachability and flexibility to adjust to evolving team processes and ambiguous situations.
- Strong affinity for technology and excitement to promote mobile service solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, including active listening and consultative engagement, with significant phone interaction.
- Prior experience using CRM software, preferably Salesforce, to track and manage customer relationships.
Location and Work Arrangement
This position requires working onsite in one of our hub cities: Edmonton, Toronto, Vancouver, or Kitchener-Waterloo, fostering intentional collaboration in person.
Compensation and Benefits
The compensation package is transparent and standardized, featuring a base salary of $50,000 plus commissions totaling $30,000, providing an on-target earning potential of $80,000. The commission structure has no cap and is disbursed monthly, enabling earnings beyond the OTE. Additional benefits include equity rewards, annual stipends for health and wellness, retirement savings matching, and a comprehensive health insurance plan with fully covered premiums for mental and physical health. Clear pathways exist for career growth, supported by coaching and leadership development programs.
Hiring Process and Talent Pool
This listing serves to build a talent pipeline for future openings, rather than filling an immediate vacancy. Candidates proceed through up to four stages: an initial discussion with Talent Acquisition, an interview with a hiring manager, a mock discovery call, and a final interview with a senior sales leader.
Qualified applicants will be placed in an active talent pool for up to three months with periodic communication. When a role becomes available, candidates are promptly contacted to move forward with the final hiring steps. Candidates can withdraw from the pool at any time.
Company Commitment and Culture
- We offer a total rewards package with health coverage, retirement options, and stock ownership.
- Our dedicated Talent Development team provides ongoing coaching, learning, and leadership growth opportunities.
- We provide a unique chance to impact a large industry lacking a dominant platform.
- Our team culture is based on humility, support, and a strong commitment to customer success.
We prioritize diversity and inclusion and are an equal opportunity employer committed to accommodating applicants throughout the hiring process.
