A/C Technician

Job Responsibilities

• Perform installation, servicing, and repairs of air conditioning and temperature control systems.
• Maintain and repair electrical and mechanical refrigeration units, including freezers, refrigerators, ice makers, fan coil units, and chillers.
• Carry out preventive maintenance on all HVAC and refrigeration equipment within the hotel.
• Monitor the performance of refrigeration systems and their components for optimal operation.
• Inspect and ensure proper functioning of door closing mechanisms on walk-in coolers and freezers, such as gaskets and latches.
• Maintain defrosting systems and automate ice maker functions.
• Respond timely to maintenance requests from various hotel departments.
• Perform routine cleaning of fan coil units and air handling system filters.
• Assess air conditioning and chilled water system performance.
• Collaborate closely with engineering team members to diagnose and resolve air conditioning and refrigeration equipment malfunctions.
• Ensure strict adherence to environmental regulations by preventing venting of CFC gases into the atmosphere.
• Overhaul air conditioning and refrigeration machinery to maintain efficiency.
• Check refrigeration fluids and oil levels, managing major repairs responsibly.
• Coordinate with the Engineering Storekeeper for timely procurement of necessary parts.
• Execute all work following local technical regulations and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Completion of formal training at a recognized technical or vocational institute in relevant fields.
• Minimum of one year experience working in a hotel engineering environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and electrical circuit diagrams.
• Experience with Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) or Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV) systems is advantageous but not mandatory.
