Cleaner for Harris County Schools

Job Overview

This role involves maintaining cleanliness and upkeep of designated areas within Harris County Schools facilities located in Hamilton, GA. Candidates must be available Monday to Friday. Compensation is $12.00 per hour. ABM Industries provides a comprehensive benefits package for its employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning duties across buildings and facilities to ensure cleanliness standards are met.
• Use chemical cleaners and power equipment carefully in accordance with procedure to avoid damage to floors and fixtures.
• Report any repair or maintenance needs to the facility manager promptly.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, colleagues, supervisors, and managers.
• Adhere strictly to all safety, security, compliance, and quality guidelines required by the company and regulatory agencies.
• Clean and dust surfaces including furniture, fixtures, floors, walls, ceilings, machinery, and equipment.
• Relocate furniture and equipment manually or using hand trucks to facilitate cleaning.
• Clean glass surfaces such as windows, partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaning tools.
• Wash and reset blinds as needed.
• Collect and dispose of trash appropriately.
• Perform seasonal outdoor duties such as sweeping walkways, raking leaves, lawn mowing, and snow removal.
• Sanitize tables, chairs, and kitchen equipment in food service areas.
• Maintain restroom cleanliness and supply restrooms with necessary materials.

Candidate Profile

This position is well suited for individuals entering the workforce or returning with limited prior experience and educational background. Military veterans and individuals with relevant military occupational specialties (92S, 92Y, LS, DC) are highly encouraged to apply.

Required Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
• No prior experience necessary; comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided.
• No educational qualifications such as high school diploma, GED, or college degree are required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience is an advantage.
• At least one year of comparable work experience is favored but not mandatory.
