Sanitation Technician

About the Role

We are seeking a dependable and skilled Sanitation Technician to provide contract sanitation services in large-scale food manufacturing facilities located in Bardstown, KY. The role involves implementing wet and dry cleaning techniques to sanitize production lines, silos, shipping zones, manufacturing equipment, machinery, offices, cafeterias, and restrooms to uphold facility cleanliness and comply with safety standards. Key Responsibilities

• Complete tasks as outlined in the ABM Sanitation Program.
• Comply with all food safety and general safety protocols.
• Dismantle, sanitize, and reassemble machinery and equipment.
• Clean production areas accurately and safely on scheduled periodic intervals.
• Maintain cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, and servicing offices, restrooms, lunchrooms, and facility exteriors.
• Adhere strictly to the Master Cleaning Schedule as part of the sanitation program, ensuring procedures are precisely followed.
• Collaborate with leadership to uphold plant protocols and operations guidelines that ensure adherence to food safety laws and labeling regulations.
• Use appropriate cleaning chemicals and sanitizers suitable for food processing equipment and facility areas.
• Conduct daily self-inspections to monitor sanitation effectiveness across equipment.
• Inspect work before review by supervisors.
• Understand and apply Lockout/Tagout safety measures.
• Assist in training new hires or teammates changing roles.
• Report equipment malfunctions promptly to supervisors or leadership.
• Promote a safety-first mindset, actively communicating safety and health issues.
• Follow all job-specific safe work procedures without creating hazards.
• Execute assigned tasks safely without endangering self or colleagues.
• Work in confined spaces where applicable, complying with related safety protocols.
• Operate in diverse environments including wet, humid, hot, and cold conditions.
• Work at various heights within facility premises.
• Learn to operate industrial machines such as scissor lifts, boom lifts, and floor scrubbers.
• Adapt to flexible work schedules that may change periodically throughout the week.
• Consistently arrive on time, prepared, and remain on duty for the full scheduled shift.

Required Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• No prior experience required; comprehensive on-the-job training provided.
• No educational credential such as high school diploma, GED, or college degree needed.

Preferred Experience

• Previous sanitation experience in food plants or related environments preferred, ideally within food manufacturing facilities.
• Up to one year of comparable work experience beneficial.

Compensation

Hourly wage is set at $19.76, paid weekly.
