Role Overview

We are recruiting an experienced Tunnels Manager specializing in Roads Operations & Maintenance based in Doha, Qatar. This vital role focuses on directing and supervising the upkeep and functioning of road tunnels to ensure their operational safety, efficiency, and durability.

Key Duties

• Formulate and execute thorough maintenance plans tailored to road tunnels.
• Manage daily operational and maintenance tasks, aligning with established safety guidelines and legal requirements.
• Perform recurrent inspections and risk evaluations to detect potential faults and apply preventive strategies.
• Oversee tunnel infrastructure elements including ventilation, lighting, fire protection, and traffic control systems.
• Lead, guide, and develop engineers and technicians, promoting ongoing process enhancements.
• Work collaboratively with governmental bodies and contractors to guarantee project objectives are met.
• Plan and control budgets related to tunnel operation and maintenance efforts.
• Maintain rigorous quality assurance systems to uphold superior operational standards.
• Keep current with sector innovations and practices, suggesting and adopting suitable technologies.
• Compile and deliver periodic reports detailing tunnel operational performance, maintenance activities, and safety indicators.

Candidate Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electrical-Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 10 years of experience managing tunnel operations and maintenance.
• Demonstrated success handling large infrastructure projects.
• Extensive knowledge of tunnel systems, associated infrastructure, and maintenance methodologies.
• Comprehensive understanding of safety standards and risk management protocols specific to tunnel environments.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and nurture technical teams.
• Strong communicator capable of effectively engaging with varied stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical capabilities and problem-solving acumen.
• Familiarity with international tunnel management standards and practices.
• Awareness of Qatar’s local regulations and environmental issues.
• Preferred: Certifications relevant to tunnel operations and safety.
