Job description

Overview

Launch your career in software engineering with a dynamic two-year rotational development program that offers extensive exposure across multiple technical domains. This program is designed for recent graduates and provides a unique opportunity to develop core engineering skills while working on impactful projects within a global organization based in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Program Structure and Responsibilities

  • Participate in four six-month rotations covering critical engineering areas such as firmware, AI and machine learning, systems software, testing, and product management.
  • Develop, design, and deploy software applications that contribute directly to production environments and real-world solutions.
  • Investigate and apply emerging technologies, including AI-driven development tools, to enhance coding efficiency and automate repetitive tasks.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address technical challenges, improve user experience, and align with strategic product objectives.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

  • Possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Have up to three years of relevant professional experience or at least one technical internship.
  • Demonstrate strong programming skills in C++ or C# along with scripting knowledge in languages such as Python, JavaScript, Bash, Shell, Ruby, or Perl.
  • Show critical thinking, adaptability, self-motivation, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Hold full legal eligibility to work in New Zealand.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or knowledge in areas like computer vision, photogrammetry, 3D modeling, artificial intelligence, signal processing, image recognition, or GNSS.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development practices and AI-enabled tools such as GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT.
  • Demonstrated leadership through university projects or community involvement.

Work Environment and Benefits

  • Location is fully onsite at the Christchurch office with an expected travel commitment of approximately 10%.
