Job Overview

The Project Director for Facility Management will lead and ensure the successful delivery of facility management projects across multiple sites, focusing on operational readiness, compliance with quality standards, cost optimization, and stakeholder satisfaction. This leadership role encompasses directing service delivery, managing vendors, and coordinating maintenance programs from planning through to steady-state operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire project lifecycle including planning, mobilization, execution, handover, and the stabilization of operations.
  • Develop and implement facility management strategies including operating models, service standards, key performance indicators (KPIs), and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee vendor and contractor engagements by supporting procurement, setting service level agreements (SLAs), monitoring performance, and ensuring contractual compliance.
  • Supervise preventive and corrective maintenance schedules and asset reliability strategies while managing computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Ensure health, safety, security, and regulatory compliance in alignment with local laws, audits, and safety certifications.
  • Lead budget planning, cost forecasting, and enforce adherence to financial limits while optimizing lifecycle expenses.
  • Guarantee quality of services across various domains including housekeeping, HVAC/MEP, electrical, plumbing, security, landscaping, and waste management.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, internal leadership, and cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, HR, and vendors.
  • Provide comprehensive reports on project progress, service performance, risks, and any unresolved issues to stakeholders.
  • Facilitate smooth transitions during onboarding of new sites, expansions, or contract renewals to ensure continuity and efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Facilities Management, Business Administration, or an equivalent field.
  • At least 10 years of extensive experience in facility management or integrated facility services with leadership roles at manager or director level.
  • Established success in managing multi-site FM projects or large outsourced facility operations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of FM processes including SLA/KPI management, CMMS/CAFM systems, preventive maintenance, and asset management.
  • Strong expertise in vendor relations, contract administration, and regulatory compliance.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge and experience with MEP systems and building infrastructure management.
  • Familiarity with various CMMS/CAFM software such as IBM Maximo, UpKeep, Corrigo, Archibus, or ServiceNow.
  • Proven ability to lead teams through hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Expertise in managing operational turnarounds, service stabilization, and audit corrective actions.
  • Data-oriented mindset for enhancing reliability and operational performance.
