Role Overview

The Leading Hand position is a full-time role based onsite at the Gold Coast. The primary responsibility is to manage daily civil construction operations including roadside barriers, signage, and associated works. This position involves overseeing the site workforce, allocating tasks, ensuring safety standards, and delivering work that meets technical and regulatory requirements. The individual will supervise activities, monitor site progress, conduct quality inspections, and maintain clear communication between project supervisors, subcontractors, and team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee daily site tasks to ensure efficient, safe, and accurate completion of work.
• Manage workforce activities, material logistics, and equipment on the worksite.
• Conduct safety evaluations, site set-up, and breakdown to uphold compliance with company and regulatory procedures.
• Support problem-solving efforts on site and provide guidance to less experienced crew members.
• Maintain ongoing communication with supervisors, subcontractors, and crew to report progress and issues.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Proven supervisory experience in civil construction or related environments.
• Strong abilities in site management, workforce coordination, and resource handling.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills suited for collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience conducting quality inspections to ensure conformity to plans and standards.
• Thorough knowledge of construction safety practices including hazard recognition and risk control consistent with WHS regulations.
• Prior involvement in roadside construction, infrastructure projects, or similar civil works is preferred.
• Trade qualifications or certificates in civil construction or closely related disciplines are advantageous.
• Valid driver’s license with mobility to travel to multiple sites as needed.
• Capability to work outdoors under changing weather conditions and perform physical work when required.
