Role Overview

We invite applications for a Yard Operative position at our Rugby site. This is a full-time, permanent role with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, offering an annual salary of 30,223.

The Vehicle Yard Operative will be tasked with maintaining the cleanliness of all Stobart vehicles within the vehicle wash area, strictly following Health & Safety protocols. Responsibilities include ensuring high cleaning standards for tractor and trailer units, managing the flow of vehicles through the wash area, documenting work completed, and maintaining an orderly and operational washing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean all tractor and trailer vehicles within the wash area to meet the high standards set by Eddie Stobart.
• Manage and expedite the movement of vehicles through the wash using assigned shunters or drivers.
• Complete necessary documentation to confirm the quality and completion of cleaning tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the wash area by removing litter, grease, and dirt.
• Ensure operational readiness of the vehicle wash during assigned shifts.
• Operate all washing equipment in compliance with established safety procedures.
• Conduct daily checks on machinery to identify and report any faults or defects.
• Maintain sufficient stock levels of cleaning chemicals and consumables required for operations.
• Properly store chemicals, diesel, and other materials in the wash and plant room, ensuring tidiness and damage prevention.

Candidate Requirements

• Excellent organizational skills with a strong sense of commitment and motivation.
• Attention to detail and ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced outdoor work setting.
• Comfortable handling administrative tasks and generating operational reports.
• Ability to work well independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• A positive outlook coupled with eagerness to learn new skills.
• Possession of a Forklift Truck (FLT) license is preferred; however, candidates willing to obtain this training will be considered.

Experience within yard, warehouse, transport, or logistics operations is advantageous but not mandatory, as comprehensive training will be provided.
