Role Overview

We are inviting applications for the position of Hygiene Operative for night shifts at our Aylesford, UK site. The appointed individual will be responsible for maintaining exemplary cleanliness and hygiene throughout our facilities during night operations. This role requires a highly organised and dependable person who can work autonomously and uphold strict health and safety guidelines during non-standard hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute comprehensive cleaning and sanitisation procedures across all assigned areas including communal zones, equipment, and facilities according to hygiene standards.
• Safely operate and maintain cleaning machines and tools.
• Manage cleaning agents and waste disposal ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
• Conduct regular inspections, addressing or reporting any maintenance needs.
• Keep accurate documentation of cleaning schedules, chemical usage, and any events or concerns.
• Strictly follow infection control protocols and best practices.
• Complete all cleaning tasks efficiently within the allocated night shift timeframe.
• Liaise with daytime staff and management to report facility status and any ongoing issues.
• Ensure cleaning materials and equipment are stored correctly and adequately replenished.
• Show flexibility and reliability to fulfill night shift demands.

Candidate Qualifications

• Experience in hygiene, sanitation, or cleaning roles within commercial or institutional environments.
• High attention to detail and dedication to cleanliness standards.
• Dependable with strong punctuality and ability to consistently work night shifts.
• Competence in the use of cleaning tools, machinery, and chemicals adhering to safety standards.
• Good knowledge of health and safety practices including infection control.
• Physical capability to perform manual cleaning duties and handle equipment movement.
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently.
• Organisational skills enabling prioritisation of tasks.
• Effective communication skills and professional teamwork approach.
• Preferred qualifications: Health and Safety certification, COSHH awareness, and previous night shift experience.
