About the Role
Join PlaceMakers Mt Wellington as a Yard & Drive Thru Team Member and become the dependable expert for our building trade clients. Your role spans both the yard and drive-thru, where you will provide practical support, tailored product guidance, and efficiently load vehicles, all to create an outstanding customer experience that drives repeat business.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer assistance and recommend products that align with customer needs and preferences.
- Pick, assemble, and accurately process customer orders and transactions.
- Load and unload customer vehicles, delivery vans, and deliveries from suppliers.
- Support dispatch operations and coordinate daily delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate inventory through stock monitoring, cycle counts, and replenishment activities.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and well-organized yard through regular housekeeping.
- Operate forklifts efficiently within the yard environment.
Work Schedule
- Position 1: Monday to Saturday with shifts beginning as early as 6:00 AM; flexibility required across these days.
- Position 2: Monday to Thursday and Sunday, starting at 8:00 AM, with Fridays and Saturdays off.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in timber yards, building supplies, warehouse, or similar trade-based environments is preferred.
- Strong work ethic paired with an approachable and practical demeanor.
- Physically fit and capable of performing heavy lifting and manual handling tasks.
- Must possess a full New Zealand Class 1 driver's license.
- Forklift operation experience with F endorsement is advantageous.
- Familiarity with building products or construction industry knowledge is beneficial.
