About PlaceMakers and the Role

PlaceMakers has a proud heritage of supporting New Zealand Tradies, built on trust, reliability, and strong customer relationships. We are seeking an Account Manager to join our Mt Maunganui branch, someone who thrives in the field, actively building relationships and converting opportunities into lasting partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and secure new sales opportunities with both existing and potential customers.
  • Maintain regular and meaningful interactions to understand and meet customer needs proactively.
  • Collaborate closely with branch and support teams to ensure accurate pricing, product availability, and timely deliveries.
  • Participate in industry, trade, and networking events to enhance PlaceMakers’ presence and connections within the community.
  • Strengthen the brand’s reputation by being a trusted, visible partner in the local trade sector.
  • Assist in implementing and supporting the branch’s sales strategies to drive growth.

Work Details

This is a full-time, permanent position based at the PlaceMakers Mt Maunganui location, requiring 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in Sales, Account Management, or Business Development roles.
  • Preference for candidates with some exposure to the building or construction industry, though not mandatory.
  • Strong organisational, planning, and follow-up abilities.
  • Resilient, motivated, and solutions-oriented attitude.
  • Confident communicator, capable of engaging with diverse customer groups.
  • Approachable, down-to-earth demeanor that fosters trust and loyalty.
  • Possession of a clean, full New Zealand Driver’s License.
