The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) focuses on accelerating revenue, adoption, and growth across a broad range of accounts from small- and mid-market to large enterprises and public sector. WWSO teams, including business development, specialists, and technical solution architects, work backward from customers’ toughest problems to execute go-to-market strategies that grow AWS's portfolio significantly. As part of WWSO, you’ll engage at all stages of a customer’s AWS journey, from ideation of new services to scaling mature solutions, embodying a collaborative #OneTeam approach.

This role within WWSO positions you as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for caching and in-memory data architectures on AWS, focusing primarily on Amazon ElastiCache and Valkey. The role is developer-centric: your core mission is to increase adoption of ElastiCache and Valkey among developers by providing hands-on technical content, strategic guidance, and enabling the developer community to effortlessly utilize optimal caching strategies. Modern applications—especially emerging agentic AI workloads requiring low-latency caching for token optimization and cost efficiency—rely heavily on sound caching layers. You will promote effective caching patterns including cache-aside, write-through, session caching, semantic caching, rate limiting, and more, while situating in-memory solutions within broader NoSQL and purpose-built database environments vital for AI-powered production systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Champion ElastiCache and Valkey adoption within the developer community via sample code, workshops, hackathons, open-source contributions, and events.
• Provide expert guidance on caching strategies and in-memory data patterns tailored to latency, scalability, and cost considerations, especially for AI and GenAI workloads.
• Advance caching capabilities supporting agentic AI by assisting developers with token optimization, semantic caching, session/short-term memory, and rate limiting strategies, emphasizing in-memory stores as key infrastructure elements for AI production workflows.
• Act as the voice of developers and customers, collecting feedback to influence ElastiCache/Valkey product roadmaps and feature enhancements.
• Offer advanced technical expertise to domain-aligned go-to-market teams to resolve customers’ critical issues.
• Serve as a thought leader by producing AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures, and speaking at public engagements such as AWS Summit and re:Invent.
• Collaborate with Business Development to define technical strategies for GTM initiatives and solutions.
• Foster and support an internal AWS community of technical subject matter experts globally.
• Develop enabling materials for the broader SA population to support integration of AWS caching services into customer architectures.

Basic Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience designing and implementing NoSQL technologies and key-value stores such as ElastiCache, Aerospike, Redis, Memcached, including expertise in NoSQL data modeling.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong presentation and whiteboarding skills, comfortable engaging with executives, IT leaders, and developers.
• Relevant cloud certification, for example AWS Solutions Architect or equivalent.
• Proven history of successful technical consulting or architecture roles with enterprise-scale customers.
• In-depth knowledge and practical experience with Redis.
• Hands-on experience with related AWS services such as Amazon Aurora, Lambda, ElastiCache, OpenSearch, DynamoDB, S3, EC2 Container Service, and Kinesis is highly valued.
