Role Overview

We are looking to appoint a seasoned Workshop Supervisor to lead daily workshop operations at our automotive aftersales division in Qatar. Reporting directly to the Service Manager, the role involves managing repair and maintenance activities, boosting technician performance, ensuring workshop standards, maximizing service revenues, and elevating customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily workshop operations, including capacity planning and job distribution to optimize utilization.
  • Track and enhance technician productivity, manage time bookings, and meet operational KPIs.
  • Oversee work-in-progress, job carry-over, and balance workshop workload to improve throughput.
  • Uphold safety, security, and operational protocols within the workshop.
  • Promote a "Fix It Right First Time" culture by conducting quality inspections and providing technical guidance.
  • Enforce manufacturer and dealership workshop standards consistently.
  • Manage tools, equipment, and technical resources effectively.
  • Ensure timely and accurate vehicle repairs to maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with Service Advisors to recognize additional repair needs and communicate these effectively.
  • Investigate repeat repairs and implement strategies to prevent recurrence.
  • Address technical escalations and prepare field technical reports when necessary.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical bulletins, workshop manuals, and quality documentation.
  • Lead regular technician meetings to update on priorities and developments.
  • Mentor and motivate technicians through performance evaluations, training plans, and hands-on coaching.
  • Support certification programs, online training initiatives, and introduction of new products.
  • Contribute to improving service revenue and drive continuous workshop enhancements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree, Diploma, or ITI certification in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 to 7 years' experience in the automotive dealership sector.
  • At least 3 years in a Workshop Supervisor or similar leadership role within an automotive service environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of dealership and distributor business processes.
  • Proven experience managing workshop technicians and overseeing service operations.
  • Familiarity with MS Office and ERP workshop management systems.
  • Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Integrity, accountability, and strong professional ethics.
  • Capability to work effectively in a diverse, multicultural workplace.
