Workshop Labourer

Job Overview

Become a Workshop Labourer at Airpac Rentals, part of Vp plc, a respected supplier of equipment solutions serving the energy sector. This role focuses on maintaining workshop and yard operations, including fabric maintenance tasks like preparation and painting to keep hire equipment in excellent condition.

Primary Duties

• Perform inspections and tests on air and steam hoses as necessary.
• Assist in preparing equipment for painting.
• Inspect returned equipment for visible damages and verify against hire termination documents.
• Carry out pre-operational inspections of forklifts and cranes.
• Operate forklifts and cranes safely for loading, unloading, and relocating equipment within workshop and yard.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of workshop and yard, ensuring they are free from debris.
• Handle delivery and collection of small parts and assets efficiently and punctually.
• Correctly store all equipment in assigned locations.
• Complete and manage documentation linked to equipment maintenance and movements promptly.
• Maintain precise records of inspections, damage assessments, and asset tracking.
• Support workshop and yard staff as needed and demonstrate teamwork and flexibility.
• Adhere strictly to company health and safety policies, promoting a safe working environment.
• Dispose of waste properly, ensuring chemicals, oils, paints, and other fluids are managed without spillage and recycled where applicable.
• Comply with all Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations when loading and storing equipment.

Qualifications and Experience

• Basic proficiency in mathematics and English (National 5 or equivalent level).
• Familiarity with the oil industry advantageous but not mandatory.
• Experience using forklifts or cranes is desirable but not essential.
• Must possess a valid driving license.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to procedures.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team.
• A proactive, adaptable approach to varied duties and responsibilities.
