About Adelaide Venue Management and the Role
Adelaide Venue Management (AVM) is South Australia's premier provider of venue management services, operating renowned venues such as the Adelaide Convention Centre, Adelaide Entertainment Centre, and Coopers Stadium, along with various functions at The Drive. The Adelaide Convention Centre is a distinguished venue hosting major global conferences, exhibitions, and gala events, having been honoured with multiple awards for excellence in the events industry.
The Workforce Planning Officer will be instrumental in arranging employee rosters for AVM’s casual staff across all venues. This role is crucial to ensuring seamless event operations through effective workforce scheduling, managing availability, and collaborating with multiple departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain efficient, cost-effective rosters ensuring smooth event and service delivery at all AVM venues.
- Handle roster modifications during out-of-hours to accommodate operational demands.
- Coordinate communication between departments across the three venues to facilitate timely rostering adjustments.
- Act as the primary contact for casual staff queries, managing concerns and confirming shift availability.
- Liaise with external labour hire providers to source additional personnel during high-demand periods.
- Track and record employee activity including cancellations, sick leave, and unexplained absences within the casual workforce.
Required Skills and Attributes
- Positive and energetic approach with adaptability to various technological platforms.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, fostering strong relationships with team members and clients.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, effectively coordinating multiple schedules.
- Strong organizational and time management capabilities to ensure smooth operational flow.
- Experience in workforce scheduling or rostering with knowledge of industrial agreements such as Enterprise Agreements and Award provisions.
- Flexibility to work outside standard business hours to meet the demands of event scheduling.
