Role Overview
We seek a meticulous and compassionate Workers Compensation Specialist to join our dedicated claims management team. This role is vital in advocating for injured employees and managing workers compensation claims competently under the Comcare self-insured scheme. You will collaborate extensively with stakeholders to remove recovery obstacles and facilitate return to work, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively support injured employees by managing claims and identifying recovery barriers.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with team members and stakeholders throughout the claims process.
- Make informed decisions regarding claim liabilities and benefits following legislative guidelines.
- Keep accurate, detailed, and compliant claims records.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues to ensure accurate payment of benefits as per legal requirements.
- Prepare and submit reports for regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders.
- Analyze claims data to detect trends and recommend risk reduction strategies.
- Work alongside departments such as Health Wellness and Rehabilitation, HR, Legal, and Safety to achieve optimal outcomes.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience handling workers compensation claims, preferably within the Comcare framework.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a positive approach.
- Excellent organizational skills with great attention to detail.
- Effective problem-solving abilities and dedication to high-quality customer care.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced setting with strong time management.
- Adaptability and flexibility to manage changing environments effectively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software platforms.
