Role Overview

As a Workday Extend Architect at Kainos, you will collaborate with a team of specialist consultants to ensure the successful implementation of Workday Extend solutions. You will lead projects by understanding customers' requirements and guiding the design, implementation, deployment, and support of applications using the Workday Extend platform.

You will establish strong customer relationships to guarantee solutions are aligned, fit for purpose, and commercially viable. Additionally, you will play a key role in mentoring and educating others within the Workday practice on Extend methodologies.

Key Responsibilities and Skills

• Lead Workday Extend projects working closely with clients to gather and document requirements.
• Design and develop applications on the Workday Extend platform solving business and technical challenges.
• Utilize proficiency in XML, REST, SOAP, and JSON alongside strong knowledge in object-oriented programming, preferably J2EE.
• Apply your understanding of cloud computing and web services to address technical challenges.
• Demonstrate excellent customer focus by managing expectations and building strong relationships, with an ability to escalate and push back appropriately.
• Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, including remote collaboration, presenting formally to senior audiences.
• Exhibit strong commercial awareness and an understanding of business and project dynamics.
• Stay informed on industry trends across HR and HR technology to guide solution development.
• Operate well under tight deadlines, balancing customer needs and commercial considerations.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

• Workday HCM Certification or equivalent experience with other HCM/ERP systems.
• Experience in designing workflows and familiarity with other middleware or application development platforms.
• Knowledge of additional object-oriented or web development languages.
• Experience in mentoring and managing teams.
