About the Role

We are partnering with a top-tier Oilfield Service Company seeking a seasoned Well Placement Engineer to champion the adoption and commercial expansion of geosteering technology in Oman and Saudi Arabia. This role uniquely blends technical expertise with business development responsibilities, requiring a professional adept at providing real-time rig advisory while advancing technology presence in the market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver expert technical assistance and guidance during real-time well placement and geosteering operations.
  • Collaborate intimately with rig-site and client teams to ensure the delivery of optimized well placement strategies.
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for geosteering technologies throughout the designated region.
  • Support the adoption and integration of technology within customer workflows and processes.
  • Provide expert counsel on well trajectory design, reservoir navigation, and interpretation of live drilling data.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with clients and pinpoint opportunities for expanding technology use.
  • Conduct technical presentations and support client engagements, opportunity cultivation, and business growth initiatives.
  • Partner with internal teams spanning product development, technical services, and commercial efforts to align solutions with market demands.
  • Contribute to the continual enhancement of regional well placement offerings.
  • Progress towards mentoring and leading a team of Well Placement Engineers as the division grows.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geoscience, or a related technical field is preferred.
  • At least 12 years of substantial experience in the Oil & Gas or Oilfield Services sector.
  • Extensive expertise in Well Placement, Geosteering, and Directional Drilling operations.
  • Deep knowledge of well trajectory planning, reservoir navigation, and real-time drilling/geological data interpretation.
  • Experience with leading Oilfield Service organizations is highly valued.
  • Proven track record collaborating directly with customers, drilling teams, and operational stakeholders.
  • Previous engagement in commercial, client development, or technology promotion roles is a plus.
  • Suitable for established domain experts or senior Well Placement Engineers keen to take on leadership roles.

Skills & Competencies

  • In-depth technical knowledge of geosteering and well placement techniques and workflows.
  • Strong customer engagement skills and confident presentation ability.
  • Commercially savvy with aptitude for identifying and nurturing business opportunities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-driven with capability to operate autonomously within dynamic field environments.
  • Leadership potential and motivation to develop and lead a team over time.
  • Arabic language proficiency is considered beneficial but is not mandatory.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel regionally and internationally as required.
