Welder - Gas Turbine Components

Job Overview

The Welder is entrusted with performing welding, blending, and repair activities on gas turbine parts following precise work instructions, engineering requirements, and quality criteria. This role plays a key part in ensuring processes are executed safely and accurately to meet production and maintenance objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct welding operations adhering strictly to approved work instructions, specifications, and engineering documentation.
• Prepare components and welding equipment for correct setup and execution.
• Interpret welding procedures, technical drawings, and instructions to perform precise welds.
• Safely operate and monitor welding tools and machinery.
• Inspect parts pre-, mid-, and post-welding to verify quality compliance.
• Maintain precise documentation of welding and production data.
• Detect welding flaws or process issues and promptly report them.
• Assist in repair and rework processes according to quality standards.
• Follow Standard Work protocols and maintain line efficiency, quality, and safety.
• Keep the workspace organized and clean following 5S methodology.
• Apply Lean principles to identify improvement areas and reduce waste.
• Contribute to enhancing standard work, visual management, and overall Lean deployment.
• Operate within takt time and support flow goals of production.
• Use shop floor IT interfaces such as ELM, SmartShop, and MyAndon as necessary.
• Comply fully with safety protocols, quality policies, and established procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma, technical college certificate, welding certification, or equivalent practical experience.
• A minimum of five years’ welding or industrial manufacturing experience related to repair welding.
• Preferred: At least two years’ experience working on gas turbine or precision aerospace/industrial components.
