Wax Finisher - 1st Shift

Role Overview

Under guidance from the Production Area Lead, the Wax Finisher position involves completing the final finishing touches on wax and wax/plastic patterns. This role focuses on removing excess material (flash), repairing imperfections without altering shape, and achieving smooth blends. Additional tasks include preparing and attaching pour cups and pattern assemblies, conducting gating work, and recording completed items digitally.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform final finishing on wax and wax/plastic patterns by removing flash, repairing defects, and smoothing blends
• Repair pattern defects using wax filler without changing pattern shape or contour
• Dress pour cups appropriately
• Attach finished patterns to trees and connect pour cups to pattern gating systems
• Assemble plastic or wax cross arms and vent plugs when carrying out gating work
• Enter finished piece data into the computer inventory system
• Prepare cores if working on IGT patterns
• Apply blue sealing for plastic/wax patterns where required

Work Location & Schedule

The position is based at 3960 S Marginal Rd, Cleveland, OH 44114, on the 1st shift: Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Compensation

Hourly wage of $20.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution is mandatory
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds
• Capable of effective teamwork and communication within a cell team environment

Working Conditions and Safety

Although not exposed to hazardous materials, employees must wear personal protective equipment (PPE). The role involves light to moderate physical activities including walking, sitting, standing for long periods, and lifting.
