Overview
Join a dedicated team committed to preserving and enhancing the local infrastructure and environment. As a Waste Operative Sweeper Driver with Liverpool City Council, you will contribute directly to maintaining a clean, safe, and attractive community for present and future generations.
Job Details
- Permanent full-time role—36 hours per week, working four days Tuesday to Friday from 12:30 pm to 10:00 pm, with an additional shift allowance
- Competitive salary ranging from $73,110 to $79,872 annually plus superannuation
- Worksite located in Liverpool
Role Responsibilities
- Perform household curbside waste and recycling collection efficiently
- Remove litter and manage waste in public spaces
- Operate and maintain waste collection vehicles and equipment with safety as a priority
- Support traffic management and ensure road safety during operations
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be hands-on, safety-conscious, and committed to high-quality service delivery. Working collaboratively in a physically demanding environment and engaging constructively with the public are essential attributes.
Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate:
- Hold a Heavy Rigid (HR) Drivers License
- Possess or be willing to acquire a General Construction WHS White Card
- Have or be willing to obtain traffic control and traffic control plan implementation tickets within three months of commencement at personal expense
- Experience driving trucks in residential settings
- Background in waste removal or comparable operational roles
- Capability to undertake manual handling and physical labor
- Understanding of Work Health and Safety standards and safe work procedures
- Strong team collaboration skills and professional demeanor when interfacing with the community
