Job description
Role Summary
The Warehouse Operative serves as the main liaison for all incoming and outgoing drivers, overseeing shipments and warehouse stock management. This position demands precision in paperwork handling, scheduling, and stock verification for both finished goods and raw materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pull customer orders and prepare required shipping documentation promptly.
- Prepare and secure pallets for shipment by stretch wrapping.
- Efficiently unload raw material deliveries from trucks.
- Inspect incoming goods, reject damaged items, document any shortages, and coordinate with suppliers to resolve discrepancies.
- Direct items to relevant departments within the warehouse.
- Utilize scanning devices to record materials and apply load tags.
- Operate forklifts or hand trucks to transport shipments between loading docks and storage or work areas.
- Verify shipment information by matching counts, weights, or measures with official documents like bills of lading and invoices.
- Prepare and manage routing for all inbound and outbound shipments according to specifications.
- Determine shipment methods and schedule freight pickups accordingly.
- Complete all necessary shipping manifests accurately.
- Collaborate closely with Customer Service to coordinate logistical efforts.
- Apply shipping labels to packed cartons and pick inventory items designated for shipment.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of shipping supplies and materials.
- Ensure raw materials are pulled timely for production and that machinery is consistently supplied per schedule.
- Remove excess stock from production lines and return to inventory.
- Conduct weekly cycle counts to maintain accurate stock records.
- Assist with equipment maintenance and preventative upkeep to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain cleanliness of the warehouse to comply with scheduled standards and audit readiness.
- Adhere to all facility safety policies and procedures strictly.
- Uphold professional and respectful interactions with colleagues, aligning with company ethics and codes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management within qualification scope.
Additional Information
The role requires a minimum 39-hour weekly commitment, with potential for additional hours based on business needs.
