About the Role

Twinkle Toes Nanny Agency is currently looking for a nurturing and dependable nanny to join a family in Gainesville, FL. This position involves becoming a trusted and consistent figure in the children's lives, delivering care that aligns with Waldorf-inspired and other holistic early childhood educational philosophies. The family highly values a nurturing approach that encourages play, creativity, outdoor activities, and age-appropriate independence within a secure and structured setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent, engaged care for the children during a 35-hour workweek.
• Plan and implement developmentally suitable activities in line with Waldorf-inspired, child-focused principles.
• Facilitate imaginative, screen-free playtime, outdoor exploration, and physical activities like walks and playground visits.
• Engage children in reading, storytelling, music, arts and crafts, sensory, and creative play experiences.
• Maintain regular daily routines including meals, naps, transitions, and overall scheduling.
• Prepare simple and nutritious meals and snacks for the children.
• Support children’s development of independence and life skills.
• Apply gentle, consistent boundaries to encourage positive behavior.
• Transport children to appointments, activities, or school as required.
• Keep play areas organized, manage children’s laundry and belongings, and clean up after meals and activities.
• Organize necessary items for outings or school activities.
• Communicate consistently with parents about children’s daily experiences, development, and any concerns.
• Collaborate closely with parents to uphold the established parenting philosophy and household routines.

Qualifications

• Warm, patient, nurturing, and emotionally attuned demeanor.
• Highly reliable, responsible, and able to communicate effectively.
• Experience working with young children and knowledge of early childhood development.
• Comfortable with and supportive of the family's parenting style and routines.
• Creativity and enthusiasm for screen-free activities promoting children’s growth.
• Interest in outdoor play, nature, arts, music, sensory engagement, and hands-on learning.
• Ability to set gentle yet consistent boundaries and encourage independence while maintaining a safe environment.
• Desire to build a meaningful, lasting relationship with the children and family.
• Preferred Qualifications: Background in Early Childhood Education, Waldorf Education, Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Preschool Teaching, Child Development, Nature-Based Education, or professional nanny experience.
• Direct Waldorf experience is favored but not mandatory; eager learners willing to adapt to the family’s childcare philosophy are encouraged.

Compensation and Additional Details

The position offers an hourly pay rate between $20 and $22. The role is part-time, onsite in Gainesville, FL, requiring 35 hours per week.
