About the Role

The position of Waiter/Waitress at a prestigious hotel in Doha, Qatar, involves delivering an impeccable and refined culinary service to guests. This role demands mastery in fine dining etiquette, deep knowledge of cuisine, and proactive guest care ensuring a flawless experience in a luxury dining setting.

Primary Duties

• Possess comprehensive knowledge of menu details, including ingredients, methods of preparation, geographic origins, common allergens, and suggest suitable wine or cocktail pairings.
• Perform elegant and synchronized service techniques, such as serving dishes and drinks correctly from designated sides and coordinating simultaneous table service for all guests.
• Adapt to the mood of each table to customize service style, whether for special occasions or business gatherings, anticipating requirements discretely such as napkin replacement or table cleaning between courses.
• Provide expert guidance on menu selections, describe chef’s tasting menus in detail, and recommend premium beverages to enhance both guest satisfaction and revenue.
• Act as a communication conduit between the dining area and kitchen for special dietary needs, order timing, and modifications.
• Prepare and maintain the dining area, ensuring all utensils, glasses, and plates are spotless and precisely arranged to fine dining standards.

Required Expertise and Qualities

• Previous experience working as a waiter in high-end, fine dining or Michelin-starred restaurants.
• In-depth understanding of fine wines, spirits, luxury ingredients (including truffles, caviar, and specialty beef cuts), and culinary language.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to interpret guest behavior, communicate gracefully, and maintain composure during busy periods.
• Flawless personal grooming and strict adherence to uniform codes.
• Physical endurance to stand and move gracefully throughout long service shifts while handling heavy trays and glassware.
