MGallery Nairobi Gigiri consists of 105 rooms and suites, four diverse dining venues including an all-day dining restaurant, a signature dining area, a pool bar, and a rooftop bar. The hotel also hosts meeting rooms, a business center, and wellness amenities such as a gym, pool, and spa. Located conveniently on Gigiri's Limuru Road near Nairobi's city center and Village Market, the hotel serves a clientele including UN and NGO delegates, diplomats, consultants, contractors, leisure travelers, and locals.

Role Scope and Responsibilities

  • Maintain impeccable grooming standards consistently.
  • Strive to surpass guest expectations by understanding preferences and updating guest profiles.
  • Have comprehensive knowledge of the restaurant’s menu and daily offerings.
  • Be well-versed with beverage service details, including appropriate glassware and garnishes.
  • Support the achievement of the restaurant’s financial, LQA, and TrustYou targets daily.
  • Anticipate guest needs and deliver outstanding service at all times.
  • Monitor daily financial goals for the assigned area or division.
  • Utilize opening and closing checklists to ensure smooth operations of the venue at start and end of shifts.
  • Keep service stations clean, cleared, and replenished throughout service.
  • Serve and clear food and beverage items professionally and unobtrusively.
  • Present menus proactively to guests.
  • Take ownership and act responsibly within the workplace.
  • Communicate any guest feedback promptly to the manager on duty for logging in the Glitch Report.
  • Adhere to HACCP and FIFO standards as mandated by regional authorities.
  • Follow the hotel’s evacuation policy during emergencies.
  • Participate in all required briefings and training sessions directed by management.
  • Handle financial procedures according to finance department guidelines.
  • Identify potential service issues or guest needs early and seek assistance to prevent service lapses.
  • Support any assigned tasks or special projects across departments as requested by management.
  • Ensure all negative guest feedback is recorded in the glitch system appropriately.
  • Maintain the care program at all times and report maintenance issues promptly through the appropriate channels.

Candidate Qualifications

  • 1 to 2 years of experience working as a waiter or waitress in a hotel, restaurant, or fine-dining setting.
  • Strong communication and customer service abilities, demonstrated with a polished and professional presentation.
  • Capacity to work flexible shifts and availability to start immediately.
