Job Overview

The Waiter/Waitress position involves delivering exceptional guest service within a restaurant setting. Responsibilities include welcoming guests, explaining menu selections, managing orders, ensuring timely delivery of meals and beverages, and maintaining a clean dining environment.

Primary Duties

• Warmly welcome and seat guests upon arrival to the restaurant.
• Provide detailed menu explanations, answer guest inquiries, and suggest items when appropriate.
• Accurately record food and drink orders using the Micros Point of Sale system.
• Communicate clearly with kitchen staff regarding guest orders and specific requests.
• Deliver meals and beverages promptly to guests.
• Regularly check on guests to confirm their satisfaction and offer additional assistance if needed.
• Handle payment transactions, including issuing receipts and managing cash or card payments.
• Maintain cleanliness of tables and overall dining area throughout service.
• Adhere strictly to all health, safety, food safety, and hygiene guidelines and hotel protocols.
• Monitor stock levels for restaurant supplies such as linens and glassware, and report shortages.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures for the restaurant.
• Coordinate reservations with supervisors and hosts when special guest requests are made.
• Oversee the usage of supplies and equipment to minimize waste and spoilage.
• Ensure all food and beverage orders meet quality standards and are served promptly.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by hotel management that support restaurant operations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Completion of high school education is mandatory.
• Possess at least two years of experience in a comparable waiter/waitress role.
• Strong communication abilities coupled with excellent customer service skills.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm and a passion for the hospitality industry.
• Outgoing and personable character traits that enhance guest interactions.
