Overview
This role involves designing, implementing, and managing Food and Beverage (F&B) programs to enhance brand standards, profitability, and guest satisfaction within IHG Hotels & Resorts.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in creating, launching, and supervising F&B test initiatives; develop tools to measure outcomes; collect and analyze data from participating hotels, including sales reports; prepare detailed reports and memos for executive management and franchisees.
- Author training manuals and specifications supporting F&B programs, ensuring compliance with company policies and health, safety, and equipment regulations at all government levels; create training guides and online resources.
- Conduct workshops for new general managers, F&B directors, new owners, and other department staff to orient and train them on F&B operations and programs; support field consultants by leading or assisting in workshops.
- Maintain and update F&B programs regularly; organize biannual F&B Council meetings; collaborate with external agencies to create merchandising and training materials.
- Communicate and clarify F&B standards to operators, management, and owners; serve as the main contact for franchisees regarding F&B updates, issues, and offerings; work closely with public relations to promote developments.
- Research and test food and beverage products aligned with F&B programs; represent the department at events such as the Global Investors Conference; manage communication with the F&B Council and committee members.
- Advise hotels on food and beverage training, outlet profitability, and leasing options; conduct property visits to assess program effectiveness.
- Coordinate with vendors, agencies, restaurant companies, and procurement teams to facilitate marketing fees and service agreements.
- Manage and maintain the F&B website and content on the IHG Merlin "Hotel Solutions" platform; handle inquiries related to F&B and direct them appropriately.
- Oversee administration of Holiday Inn Menu Programs including billing and internal relations; manage ongoing F&B initiatives as required.
- Perform additional duties related to the food and beverage department as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Hotel Administration or a related field, or an equivalent mix of education and experience in F&B program management.
- 4 to 7 years of experience in chain restaurant management or hotel F&B operations, with proficiency across multiple relevant disciplines.
Technical Skills
- Proven ability to organize, implement, and monitor multiple F&B programs or pilot tests simultaneously across locations.
- Experience developing adult training materials and delivering adult education in hospitality or business contexts.
- Strong knowledge of financial documents related to F&B operations including profit and loss statements and sales data analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills tailored to audiences of varying backgrounds; capable of consultative and persuasive communication to implement programs or address franchisee compliance.
- Skilled in using computerized software systems for reporting, analysis, and cost management.
- Comprehensive understanding of brand standards and programs, in addition to knowledge of federal, state, and local health and safety regulations relevant to hotel F&B operations.
