Position Overview

Reporting directly to the F&B Events Manager, the Barista's main function is to prepare beverage orders following precise recipes and measurement systems. This role involves crafting and serving refreshments, expertly combining ingredients to create both classic and inventive drinks customized to customer preferences. The Barista must possess a strong memory and effectively communicate drink information and benefits, maintaining exceptional professionalism and focus throughout their duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve a range of coffee, tea, and soft drinks adhering to standardized recipes and individual customer preferences.
  • Consistently produce visually attractive and high-quality beverages.
  • Manage cash transactions and accurately operate the cash register.
  • Maintain inventory and ensure equipment cleanliness, perform troubleshooting, and coordinate necessary repairs.
  • Stay updated on varieties of coffee, brewing techniques, and industry trends.
  • Inform and educate customers about coffee choices and flavors.
  • Encourage sales by suggesting additional items such as pastries and specialty beverages.
  • Engage in promotional campaigns to boost sales.
  • Welcome and interact with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Take orders, respond to menu inquiries, and offer informed recommendations.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by promptly addressing concerns or issues.
  • Maintain personal hygiene and adhere to grooming standards.
  • Follow all health and safety protocols diligently during daily activities.
  • Keep the workspace and equipment clean and in good condition, report hazards, and ensure corrective measures are implemented.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Possess a High School Diploma, GED, or College Degree.
  • Have 2 to 3 years of experience in the hospitality sector.
  • At least 2 years working in a specialty café or coffee roastery.
  • Hold a Barista Certification and EFST Certification; HACCP Certification is advantageous.
  • Demonstrate excellent barista skills including proficient latte art and thorough understanding of specialty coffee.
  • Knowledgeable in preparing juices and soft drinks, as well as coffee roasting processes.
  • Must communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Physically capable of fulfilling job responsibilities.
  • Able to engage effectively with all management levels.
  • Resourceful, innovative, forward-looking, and dedicated to enhancing health, safety, and overall productivity.
