About the Role
This full-time position as a Vulnerability Researcher is fully remote, offering an opportunity to work from any location globally. The role involves performing detailed technical analyses to uncover software security flaws and vulnerabilities within diverse systems and applications.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct both static and dynamic software analyses to identify vulnerabilities within codebases and IT infrastructure.
- Create proof-of-concept exploits to confirm vulnerabilities and understand their potential impact.
- Work collaboratively with engineering teams to triage security issues and prioritize mitigation efforts effectively.
- Investigate new threat landscapes, attack methodologies, and zero-day vulnerabilities affecting relevant technologies.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation detailing findings, including technical evaluations, risk level assessments, and suggested mitigation strategies.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Strong programming expertise in C, C++, Python, or Go, particularly for vulnerability detection and exploit development.
- Experience using reverse engineering tools such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, or Binary Ninja.
- In-depth understanding of common vulnerability classes including buffer overflows, race conditions, and injection issues.
- Knowledge of network protocols, operating system internals, and techniques for exploiting memory corruption.
- Practical experience with fuzzing utilities like AFL, LibFuzzer, or Honggfuzz.
- Familiarity with secure coding standards and the secure software development lifecycle.
- Ability to produce clear, detailed technical reports tailored to audiences with varying expertise.
