Job description

Position Summary

The Visual Merchandiser plays a crucial role in enhancing customer experience by ensuring that store displays align with company standards and merchandising strategies. This role involves expertise in visual presentation techniques such as mannequin styling, fixture blocking, mapping, and in-store marketing elements to captivate and inspire guests, ultimately driving sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily and weekly visual merchandising tasks in line with sales objectives, promotional events, and company guidance.
  • Perform weekly assessments of visual displays and collaborate with store leaders to continually improve store presentation and customer engagement.
  • Oversee the execution of visual standards throughout the entire store, ensuring all layouts are appealing and consistent.
  • Implement and maintain in-store marketing (ISM) elements and visual merchandising strategies across various departments.
  • Set and adjust overhead lighting to emphasize key product presentations.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and refining merchandising setups to maintain inspiring and effective displays.
  • Use daily team meetings to educate and reinforce visual standards, signage strategy, and merchandising best practices.
  • Maintain organization in storage areas for signage tools and fixtures, and ensure all ISM materials are correctly placed.
  • Support team onboarding and ongoing training to enhance visual merchandising capabilities, closing knowledge and skill gaps through hands-on guidance.
  • Practice inclusivity by respecting diverse viewpoints and creating equitable experiences for all team members and customers.
  • Adhere strictly to safety policies and ethical standards, promptly identifying and resolving hazards.
  • Engage guests warmly during regular duties, offering assistance as needed and expressing appreciation for their patronage.

Candidate Profile

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of one to two years’ experience in visual merchandising.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Strong understanding of retail business fundamentals including sales trends, inventory management, and promotion tactics.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams to follow visual merchandising processes.
  • Proficient in operating multiple communication devices and handheld technology like scanners.
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills to manage workload effectively.
  • Friendly and helpful demeanor towards both guests and colleagues.
  • Resilient under pressure with capability to multitask in a fast-moving environment.

Physical and Scheduling Requirements

  • Flexibility to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, and during peak shopping periods.
  • Ability to physically perform tasks including climbing ladders, handling merchandise up to 15 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 44 pounds, and operating vehicles like pallet jacks.
  • Access to all store areas to respond promptly to guest and team needs.
  • No guaranteed 40-hour workweek; hours may fluctuate based on business requirements.
  • Must maintain mobility throughout scheduled shifts, which may vary in length.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting hourly pay for this position ranges from $22.50 to $24.50, with a full range extending up to $38.25 depending on various factors such as market conditions, experience, and education.
