Role Overview

The Visual Merchandiser plays a key role in creating visually appealing store displays that meet company standards, inspire customers, and boost sales. They apply expert merchandising skills such as mannequin styling, fixture placement, and in-store marketing execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and manage daily and weekly visual merchandising activities in alignment with sales goals, events, and promotions.
• Conduct weekly assessments of visual standards and collaborate with store leadership to enhance execution and customer experience.
• Ensure full adherence to visual merchandising strategies and standards throughout the store, including in-store marketing elements.
• Adjust and resolve merchandising challenges under leadership guidance to maintain compelling displays.
• Configure overhead lighting to spotlight important merchandise.
• Coach team members during interactions and meetings on visual standards, signage, and affordability strategies to foster sales-enhancing visual moments.
• Organize backroom space and maintain updated signage tools and fixtures.
• Assist in team onboarding and provide ongoing training to close skill gaps through mentorship and hands-on learning.
• Demonstrate inclusivity, ethical behavior, compliance, and maintain safety standards at all times.
• Create a welcoming environment by engaging with guests during daily tasks, offering assistance, and expressing appreciation for their patronage.
• Perform all other duties as required by business needs.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 to 2 years of experience in visual merchandising.
• At least 18 years old.
• Strong business sense including margin and profitability understanding combined with creative flair.
• Solid grasp of current trends and styles that align with the brand image.
• Ability to lead and motivate store teams to adhere to visual merchandising processes.
• Competent in using multiple communication devices, handheld scanners, and other technology tools.
• Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Effective prioritization and workload management skills.
• A welcoming, helpful demeanor towards customers and colleagues.
• Strong communication skills and ability to stay calm and focused under pressure to meet deadlines.

Additional Role Information

• Must have access to all store areas to assist team members and guests as needed.
• Ability to operate work assist vehicles and pallet jacks safely.
• Understanding of instructions, reports, and information necessary for job functions.
• Cash register handling skills may be required.
• Capability to climb ladders safely for merchandising tasks.
• Frequent lifting or moving of merchandise up to 15 pounds and occasional lifting of items or fixtures up to 44 pounds without help.
• Work schedule includes nights, weekends, holidays; punctuality and attendance are critical.
• No guaranteed 40-hour workweek; hours fluctuate based on business needs.
• Physical ability to remain mobile throughout shift duration.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting hourly wage for this position ranges from $22.00 to $24.00, with the full range extending up to $37.40 based on factors such as labor market conditions, education, experience, and certifications.
