Role Purpose and Responsibilities

This executive role involves spearheading academic affairs institution-wide, overseeing the implementation of the university's teaching and learning strategies, and ensuring alignment with its technical, vocational, and academic mission.

• Offer visionary leadership and guide the development of a comprehensive academic affairs strategy that supports UDST’s academic and technical-vocational objectives.
• Work closely with the University President to craft academic plans, policies, and procedures consistent with UDST’s strategic goals and vision.
• Cultivate relationships both internally and externally with educational institutions, K-12 groups, industry partners, and government entities to advance UDST’s TVET mission and participate in relevant committees and boards.
• Lead initiatives for creating and maintaining quality, market-relevant applied and technical programs.
• Contribute to shaping the overall institutional strategy and develop academic strategies that reflect this vision.
• Ensure effective policy, process, and guideline development related to academic delivery and institutional operations.
• Monitor and evaluate the Academics Division’s performance against key performance indicators regularly.
• Collaborate with Support Services to develop and oversee the academic division's annual budget.
• Establish and nurture partnerships with higher education institutions, community groups, industry, and ministries.
• Drive excellence in experiential learning, academic quality, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Possess a doctoral degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Bring at least 15 years of total professional experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role within a higher education institution experiencing rapid growth.
• Have demonstrated experience reviewing faculty promotion dossiers and building high-performance leadership teams.
• Understand global higher education academic standards and accreditation processes.
• Experience working effectively in culturally diverse settings is highly valued.

Language Skills

Fluency in both written and spoken English and Arabic is mandatory for this position.
