The University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) was established by Amiri Decision No. 13 of 2022 and stands as Qatar's first national university focused on academic, applied, technical, and professional education. Responsibilities
The role involves delivering instruction in first- and second-year Mathematics courses that serve all UDST academic programs. Course subjects include Algebra and Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus I & II, Statistics, Linear Algebra, Numerical Problem Solving, Numerical Methods, and MATLAB programming.
Qualifications and Experience
- Master's degree in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics from an accredited institution is mandatory.
- Post-graduate certification in educational teaching methods or an equivalent credential is desirable.
- A minimum of three years of full-time teaching experience in upper secondary, post-secondary, or higher education settings.
- Recent and relevant academic or professional experience is considered a plus.
Teaching and Learning Expectations
- Demonstrate commitment to UDST's mission emphasizing applied and experiential teaching methodologies.
- Ability to design and deliver course materials across various mathematics subjects using student-focused pedagogies supported by suitable learning aids.
- Develop and utilize valid, reliable assessment tools that gauge course outcome mastery and encourage lifelong learning habits.
- Create technology-rich learning environments promoting student engagement and participation.
- Digital fluency with UDST's learning management system and capacity to incorporate emerging digital platforms for a dynamic educational experience.
- Effective management of learning resources including print, online, institutional, and community materials alongside student support strategies and necessary documentation for accreditation.
