Role Overview

The Verification Editor is a full-time, on-site position located in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The core responsibility is to meticulously review and verify incoming video clips from the LENS network before publication on the LENS marketplace. This includes validating the authenticity, verifying the source, and ensuring the editorial integrity of the footage.

Key Responsibilities

• Carefully cross-reference video content with reliable sources to confirm accuracy.
• Analyze metadata and visual elements to identify any inconsistencies, manipulations, or misrepresentations.
• Flag any inaccuracies or ethical concerns encountered during verification.
• Collaborate with reporters, correspondents, and editorial teams to understand context, verify timelines, and uphold internal policies and industry best practices.
• Maintain comprehensive records of verification processes.
• Contribute actively to refining fact-checking standards and verification workflows within the organization.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Demonstrated strong editorial judgment and familiarity with news operations, journalism, or content verification.
• Proficient in fact-checking techniques and validating digital content sources.
• Skilled in scrutinizing video footage and related metadata to detect issues.
• Well-versed with digital platforms, social media landscapes, and the online news sector in India.
• Exceptional attention to detail, critical thinking, and able to perform effectively under time constraints.
• Comfortable using content management systems, basic video playback tools, and common productivity software.
• Preferably holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies, or similar fields; however, relevant experience will be considered.
• Committed to ethical and impartial journalism, maintaining accuracy and fairness.
• Ability to work on-site, adapt to a high-velocity environment, and engage with a distributed reporting network.
