Primary Role

The Vehicle Field Inspector is chiefly responsible for performing detailed inspections of assigned vehicles, typically at dealerships or occasionally at company facilities, and preparing accurate Condition Reports reflecting vehicle status. The position demands frequent travel, meticulous attention to detail, and relationship-building with customers. Additional related duties may be assigned as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct vehicle inspections at various venues including dealerships, auction sites, and off-site locations.
• Identify and document structural defects, frame conditions, prior or subpar paint repairs, vehicle panel alignment issues, missing components, and mechanical faults.
• Apply industry best practices, training, and management instructions consistently during inspections and reporting.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular communications to surpass their expectations.
• Ensure high accuracy in reports to limit arbitration cases.
• Adhere to all relevant safety and health protocols.
• Operate and relocate vehicles (manual and automatic) as directed.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as required.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Must be 21 years or older with dependable transportation and hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Possess at least a High School Diploma or an equivalent credential.
• Preferably 1 to 3 years of experience in the automotive sector.
• Demonstrate problem-solving skills with innovative and resourceful approaches.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Proficiency in driving both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
• Familiarity with web-based applications and automotive inspection technology is an advantage.
• Highly detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to providing excellent customer service.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

• Comfort and willingness to work under diverse weather conditions.
• Ability to bend, squat, stoop, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
• Occasional exposure to loud noises and chemicals.
