As part of the Credit and Market Risk Department, our In-house Valuation team supports the Agribusiness division by providing expert property valuation services crucial for credit assessment and managing Agri-loans and related portfolios.
Role Responsibilities
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Property Risk, the Valuer's role includes verifying property details, analyzing comparable sales data, assessing market conditions, appraising property values, managing instructions to Panel valuation firms, and reviewing their valuation reports. This position serves as a key contributor to the Property Risk team by delivering timely and accurate property valuations requested by Agribusiness Relationship Managers, essential for credit submissions. Efficient valuations help accelerate lending processes while controlling risk exposure.
Location and Work Arrangement
- This is a permanent position that can be based anywhere in Australia where Bendigo Bank maintains an office.
- The role follows a hybrid working model that balances remote work with periodic in-person collaboration at corporate hubs or regional offices in cities such as Bendigo, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, or Perth, with attendance agreements made collaboratively with leadership.
- The team operates across multiple regions, supported by technology and tools to facilitate seamless collaboration regardless of location.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold Certified Practising Valuer status.
- Be an Associate or Fellow of the Australian Property Institute (API) or hold an equivalent RICS accreditation.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for the property sector, especially agribusiness.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and achieve consensus.
- Have strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Show initiative, relationship-building skills, and the ability to work effectively with geographically dispersed colleagues and clients.
- Proficient computer skills with databases, spreadsheets, and word processing software.
- Exhibit integrity, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Display competent negotiation, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
